Well, I get a chance to submit my review to www.painaidii.com for the competition and you know what! I win the prize. I get a voucher for International Dinner Buffet @ River Café & Terrace with all drinks excluded at The Peninsula Bangkok.

I have heard that The Peninsula is a luxury hotel so I feel not that comfortable to go actually. Moreover, I am not good in reviewing and commenting the food so I will not go into the details about the taste of the food. People have different taste, some dish may use expensive ingredients and is tasteful for some people but others might not agree. Therefore, I will only review about the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant plus show you how does the food look like.

To get to The Peninsula Bangkok is easy. You can take the BTS sky train to Saphan Taksin Station and head directly to Saphan Taksin pier. From there you can take the complementary shuttle boat to the hotel, you can spot this boat by its green roof with The Peninsula Bangkok screen on it.

It is not far at all to get to The Peninsula Bangkok, it is a high-rise building on the left shore on the River of King.

The International Dinner Buffet at River Café & Terrace is opened from 06.00 PM to 10.30 PM and offers both indoor and outdoor area.

I haven't had a chance to dine by the River of King, therefore; I choose to take the outdoor table.

This is how the shuttle boat of The Peninsula Bangkok looks like.

And now let's have a look on the indoor buffet line!

Papaya salad.

Chilli Paste with vegetables.

Roasted chicken salad.

Spicy shrimp salad.

Betel nut salad.

Spicy minced pork salad.

Followed by Chinese cuisine's corner.

Fresh seafood's corner, not that variety though.

Fresh oyster.

Salmon's corner.

Poached salmon.

Japanese cuisine's corner with not that many choices.

Sashimi.

And now let's move on to have a look on the outdoor buffet line! The food are all freshly made.

Charcoal-boiled pork neck with tamarind sauce.

Dressing's corner.

And finally this is my favorite corner, dessert.

Apple & cinnamon tart.

Pear & Almond Tart.

Fresh fruits & vanilla tart

Chocolate.

Lollipops chocolate.

I am sure those who love chocolate will love it here.

Peninsula cheese cake.

Smooth pistachio cream, strawberry jelly & Kirsch cake

Yoghurt and blueberry mousse.

Mango pudding.

Chai tea panna cotta & Raspberry compote.

Macaron.

And there is also Thai dessert such as Steamed flour with coconut filling and Sweet sticky rice with banana.

Fruits salad and seasonal fruits.

Yogurt.

Homemade ice cream with the toppings.

Apart from the buffet line, you are also able to order unlimited grilled dishes from the menu on the table.

There are Tasmanian salmon, Yellow fin tuna, Scallop, Tiger prawn, Sea bass skewer, etc.

Wagyu rump, Australian lamb chop, Chicken satay, Pork satay, Kurobuta pork sausage, Lamb sausage are also available.

I am so full even I have only a few dishes like grilled seafood and meat, Japanese food, and dessert.

To summarize, I think this International Buffet is too expensive around 2,100 THB. I expect more variety of rare-to find dishes like lobster, Alaska King crab legs, etc. The Japanese cuisine's corner is also small with limited menu as an example. However, I can't say that there is no variety of food. There are too many of them especially the dessert's corner, it is very well-prepared. Moreover, I would say the best part of its all is the location by the River of King. The atmosphere and ambiance is just right for a perfect buffet dinner. Last but not least, I highly recommend you to take the outdoor table by the river and you should come early to enjoy the beauty during twilight. By the way, don't forget to check the weather before coming as well.
