Mangos, guava, massive jackfruit and award-winning pomelo grow in abundance along the banks of Khlong Mahasawat, and you get the chance to admire them from a tractor trailer commanded by a wannabe Grand Prix driver. As you gather speed among the trees and streams, and look worriedly at the next bend, your driver suddenly flings his three-metre long handlebars to the right or left, throwing his whole body into the movement so you clear corners with ease.

It’s a strange exhilarating ride to experience in a sleepy orchard, and you’ll be glad of the chance to sit down at the end and enjoy some of the sweet local produce. It’s a strange exhilarating ride to experience in a sleepy orchard, and you’ll be glad of the chance to sit down at the end and enjoy some of the sweet local produce.

- Klong Mahasawat - An hours away from Bangkok -

Thailand offers some of the most intrinsically Thai aspects of its culture – its rural and agricultural traditions and close village communities. Thailand is known as a kingdom of farmers, and its rice, silk and food products are recognised all over the world. Klong Mahaswat canal is one of the best choice to be outskirt from Bangkok. I decided to take a train to visit the Baan Saladin which is one of the part on Mahasawat canal.

There are 2 train station from Bangkok

Bangkok (HuaLumpong) - Wat Suwan

Wat Suwan - Bangkok (HuaLumpong)

ThonBuri (Bangkok) - Wat Suwan

Wat Suwan - ThonBuri (Bangkok)

- History of Klong Masahawat canal -

The canal is one of many that crisscrosses the province, and was dug 156 years ago to connect Khlong Bangkok Noi with the Nakhon Chaisi River. The construction, from 1860-1862, was ordered by King Rama IV, and when the waterway opened it made accessible nearly 20,000 rai(32 sq km) of fertile farmland. Agro tours here are by long-tail boats, which visit fruit orchards, lotus farms and orchid plantations.

I took the train with my aunties from Bangkok (Hua Lampong) at 09.00 .

One hour later,we arrived at Wat Suwan Station.

we needed to across the train station. Then, you would see the Advertised Board.

This is Wat suwan Temple.

A short history brief of Wat Suananaram Temple.

We found the Argo Tourism Service Center nearby the temple.

Boat Price 350 - Baht Plus 100 Baht for Visitor.

Khlong Mahasawat’s agro attractions are best seen in the morning to avoid the heat of the day. Long-tail boats leave from the local temple, Wat Suwannaram. While you’re waiting for your tour to start, don’t miss the chance to feed the canal’s catfish, (all the nearby vendors sell bags of fish food).

It was time for watching on canal.

I´d love the fresh air.

It was about 20-mins. Finally, we arrived the first house. Baan Lung Jaem

The first canal stop is the local lotus farms. Anyone who spends time in Thailand knows the lotus to be a devotional flower and a symbol of spiritual purity. But lotus flowers have their uses in food and medicine and grow all year round making them a useful crop for local farmers.

I should probably take a nap here.

A rowboat will take me right into the lotus ponds where the morning dew runs off the huge leaves like shining mercury as pickers harvest the lotus buds. The local ponds specialise in pink and white blossoms, which are exported around Asia.

My aunty followed me.

Mission one was completed.

The next stop is the rice village of Ban Saladin, where we can try tasty treats; such as, crispy rice crackers covered in pork as well as salted goose eggs, a local speciality. The residents are a mine of information about how local foods are farmed and prepared and are eager to offer samples to try. Most people leave loaded with bags of food to take home.

We needed to listen her carefully.

The taste was so good. We bought some of them back home.

This is their local products.

The last photo shooted before leaving.

Mission Two was completed.

The 3rd stop is Ban Fakkhao. Obviously, we saw lots of baby Jackfruit and tasted some of them.

The Baby Jackfruit Juice has a lot of health benefits. The grinded seed membranes of the baby Jackfruit contain lycopene, which is rich in antioxidants and can prevent cancer. It also helps increase immunity and reduce risk of coronary artery disease and is also rich in beta-carotene,which is a precursor of vitamins.

Could I take it all?

Mission was completed.

It’s a nice longtail of boat ride into the blooming orchids farm which is the 4th stop. We’d be glad of the chance to sit down at the end and enjoy some of the sweet local Orchids.

my aunties loved it so much.

She couldn't pick one of them.

The last stop, we arrived at the award-winning pomelo grow in abundance along the banks of Khlong Mahasawat house. we got the chance to admire them from a tractor trailer commanded by a wannabe Grand Prix driver. As we gather speed among the trees and streams, and looked worriedly at the next bend, the owner's driver suddenly flings his three-metre long handlebars to the right or left, throwing his whole body into the movement so you clear corners with ease.

we were ready to go now.

Mangos, guava, massive jackfruit and rice filed made us felt totally smile and happy.

It was a such a wonderful time.

My aunties felts like 15-year again.

It was like supergirl,wasn't it?

I wish I could try to ride it once.

They were very happy on the Tractor .

It was so much fun.

It’s a strange exhilarating ride to experience in a sleepy orchard, and we were delightful of the chance to sit down at the end and enjoy some of the sweet local produce before heading back to Bangkok.
