Hi every one!

First of all, let me introduce myself and my travel style. My name is Traveller's trade, this name is from what I love (Traveling) and what I do (Stock trading). My travel style is based on the value for money meaning that I don't focus on the price whether it is cheap nor expensive but I focus on what I would get from the money that I pay. I always pick the most reasonable and the best value for money.

I usually book a flight far in advance because it guarantees the cheaper price. Moreover, this will help me to see the rough scope of my trip and I can plan everything ahead, to book a hotel at a reasonable price right away as an example. The photos I used in travel reviews are all taken and edited by me.

This trip is 5th trip of this year after visiting Cambodia (Siem Reap - Phnom Penh), Japan (North Kyushu), Khao Yai, and Cha Am - Hua Hin. Each destination offers different experience and impression. And Chiang Mai is one of the places I have always wanted to visit. And I finally have got a chance to visit Chiang Mai in April for 4 days even though it's pretty hot.

I got a text message from Nok Air in the morning that the flight has postponed from 07.00 PM to 08.00 PM. After the Stock market closes at 04.40 PM, two of my friends and I run from Silom Complex to Si Lom MRT station and head to Chatuchak Park MRT Station. From there, we take a taxi to Don Mueang International Airport. Please be noted that you should prepare sometimes to go to the Airport in advance because the traffic during this rush hour is pretty chaotic. We might not have made it if the flight hasn't postponed in the first place.

You can either Check-in at the Check-in counter at the airport or online. To save time, checking in online is a better choice because there is a counter that opened specially for those who have checked in already and just need to drop the baggage which this counter doesn't have a long waiting line compared to the check-in counter. I choose to check-in online too. Nok Air offers free seat selection with complementary 15-kilogram carry-on baggage and complementary biscuits and drinking water are also served on board. Moreover, the flight attendants are all friendly and helpful.

Once landed in Chiang Mai, we take a local red mini-bus to get a car which is lent by our friend for free. We are very lucky because I have noticed that it is about 620 THB a day for car rental service at the airport.

We stay at B2 Nimman Santitham, a budget hotel. It is only 380 THB per night and the room is comfortable. I have heard that the room on the lower floor like 1st and 2nd floor are cheaper than 3rd and 4th floor. In addition, the price is depending on the period of time too. It is 580 THB per night during Songkran (Thai New Year) as an example. The hotel provides you with all toiletries, towels, in-room television with more than 50 channels, and free parking space. The hotel is also located near the tourist spots such as Nimman, MAYA Lifestyle Shopping Center, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai Zoo, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. However, the room is pretty outdated.

We intend to go for a late dinner at Karee Mee Tiew restaurant nearby. We get there around 11.30 PM and the restaurant is about to close so we swap to go to Steak meet love restaurant next to it instead. The Pork chop steak is well-prepared and decorated served with pasta and mashed potato at 249 THB. Overall I would say the food is average and there is nothing special.

Later on, my friends need to get something at Warm-up café so we stop by on our way back to the hotel. I haven't brought my ID with me so I can't get in there. Anyway I am enjoying the live music from a free concert nearby while waiting for my friend. After that we drive around Koo Muang (city moat) and find Jok Sompet (Congee) by chance. This Jok Sompet is a famous place for congee in Chiang Mai and opened 24/7. We decide to give it a try but we think it is average too. Anyway, since it opens 24/7 whoever want late supper like congee, dim sum, or Thai food you can stop by here anytime.

The first night in Chiang Mai ends here and there are still 3 more days to go. Please stay tuned to see where I would go and what else I would do here in Chiang Mai for the next 3 days. And don't forget to use my personal map to help planing your trip to here.
