"During this few months after I had tried first time walking around old town of Bangkok. I realized that there are so many road, street, soi which we can connect to history of Thailand and Bangkok. So, you will see that I have many article about walking in Bangkok. All are same same but difference!!! "
This is the first time we walk on Sunday. Just because one of my friend who will walk along with me this time available only today and I do not want to wait till next week.
Our meeting point this time is River City Pier. My friend arrived by Chao Phraya public boat from his house in Nonthaburi province. We met around 8am and then start walking on the first road of Bangkok "Captain Bush Lane" passing the first house in Bangkok "House no.1" in the historic,turn-of-the century neo-classical mansion is now open for special and personalized events. All the superlative occasions to bring you back to the glorious days of King RamaV's reign whear this magnificent house was the splendid sigh to behold by the Chaophraya River. I like this style of building and the color look like mustard. They do not allow to get in except you pay for rental the venue for event.
We walk to another stop, the beautiful art on the wall. My friend told me that this art got inspiration from the people's mood which showing from face,eyes, lip etc.,
After art on the wall we walk to the popular warehouse name "Ware House 30". The old warehouse which turned to be a wooden furniture made to order shop, restaurant, coffee shop, fashion shop etc.,
The name of this restaurant is "DAG" actually this word is Old Thai word same meaning with eat.
It is not the time yet, then walk pass this restaurant to other shops.
There is a shop selling cloths, bags, shoes and fashion accessories.
We walked until the end of the ware house and saw outside of the building is painted with colorful art.
But the highlight for me to say wow is here. ALEX FACE is there.
I am his big fan and love to take photo of his painted everywhere I saw. You can see two orange road cones. Actually, they should not be in the frame but I saw a local guy keep putting them along the this small road. I question politely the reason and then I understand him and agree. If he do not put it then some people will park the car and we can not see clearly graffiti on the way. That true because I saw another side of the road with the wall but there are lots of car parking cover those art then we cannot take photo or enjoy seeing them.
We continue walking to the big building of Post Office. This is the 2nd post office in Bangkok. There is student group arrive same time with us so I can not get good shot this time.
We walk back to the River City because we want to take a bus and move out from this area to another area where we can find some good food (requested by my friend), it is already 11am.
We bought the ticket and get on the hop of hop of bus because this bus will take us passing China town, Flower market and then reach to the Tiger Shrine where we want to get of. In my opinion I think this hop on hop of bus is good to connect interesting places because if we take public bus then you nave to get of somewhere to connect with another bus but you have to know well which bus you want to take and it pass to your places.
This bus took us passing China town but since we came here last week so we did not get of.
My friend pointed me to see a small shop with very long que. This is "Lhong Tou" shop which we came here with another friends last week. Lucky us that time was not crowded like this.
Another shop with long queue is a noodle shop with clear hot soup.
My friend pointed me to see again the shop which selling ingredient to make mental smell and lots of Chinese herbs.
We passed "Talad Kao Street", this street connected the main road with the seafood market where you can find all type of fresh seafood. And end of the street is the Chao Phraya River.
It was a bit raining so lucky us taking this bus before it rain.
I think we have to come again after this beautiful area finished. My friend told me this community avenue was built by local people in China town area. They donate their own money.
This road linked China Town to Sampheng which is the largest wholesales for all accessories such as cloths, toys, gifts, stationary etc., But today is not shopping day so we pass this one.
I think China town, Sampheng market, Khaosan are the area where we can see lots of tuk tuk taxi. And I think it more convenience than you come with big car or even bus but it is open air.
The bus took us another road and we know that now we are already in Flower market. At this time 11.30am many shops selling making garland, flowers. Actually, to come to this area should be early morning before 5am then we can see more people come to buy and sell flower here. May be we try next time.
We passing by the flower market and Museum of Siam. I notice that the MRT station in front of the museum already opened so may be next time we come by subway.
I saw the old style building mean we are closing to the stop.
We get of at the stop close to Tiger Shrine.
Then we start fighting with idea for lunch. I won with the noodle with fish ball in red soup "Nai Auan fish noodle" is the name of the shop. I never been there but another friend strongly recommended.
This is my order, I came here for this. This big bowl is only 60 Baht.
And my friend ordered this menu "Ba Teng" a noodle with the stew pork on top.
But for me highlight is this one. The deep fried shrimp ball, this is the best one I have ever tried.
But when we eat then we need drink. Mine one is "Honey Lemon Soda" the taste is very rich of honey and lemon. I like it and it is only 30 Baht. Very cheap.
In Thai culture, we sometimes make a joke that after meal we should have some dessert. Actually, it just an excuse when we want to eat something more than meal. And today we chose this one.
We are full and walking back to the main road to Wat Suthat which is our last stop. But on the way I saw a shop frying something. It is taro !!!
Then I buy again.
We walk and we eat till we reached to "Wat Suthat" . You can recognize this temple easily if you see this "Giant Swing" then you just walk to it and you will find the temple. The sky is not clear and it almost raining. We went in to the temple for pray and blessing around 10 minutes. This is Thai way, wherever we go we always drop by the temple to pray.
It is 2pm now. We both full with food and new experience by walk along the new road. But the more I walk the more I want to walk more because I wish to see difference things.
