Kanchanaburi is the province that I fall in love ever since my first review.

Topic...Go with a Free Train to See the Scenic Death Railway, and Jump at the River Kwai Jungle Raft

To Enjoy Slow Life without Electricity!

https://th.readme.me/p/3813

There, I'm looking forward to go back again.

And my co-trip friends are my mom and my daughter...

Since our house is not so far from Thonburi Railway Station, we are quite chill.

When we realize again, it's already 6.00 a.m. on Friday!!!

Hurry, both the mom and the daughter...!!!

We need to leave our house by 7 a.m.....

When we arrive, we need to show our national ID in exchange for the train ticket.

The train leaves at 07.50 a.m. and we will reach Nam Tok Station at 12:35 p.m.

Now, we have more than an hour, let's enjoy the time here, hehe.

Once on the train, we find our seats.

We only get to move twice for this trip.

We enjoy the Grilled Pork and Sticky Rice even before the train leaves the station.

After she's full, it's time to sleep like a child.

The scene on the train is so classic, I just love it.

Last time, we sat on the restaurant cabinet, I quite miss it. Let's go take a look.

I also ask my daughter to join me.

We both love Korean Zombie movie.

Our inner is so strong once we are on the train.

We are going to Busan.....

When wandering here and there, we now are hungry. Let's go back to enjoy our noodle with pork balls.

It's only 10 THB each but it's less than 10 bites. It's delicious and we love it.

We are going pass the River Kwai Bridge but I didn't take any photo but video tapping.

There're still lots of tourists. It's so good that Thai people travel in Thailand.

I think this is such a delight thing.

Thamkrasae Bridge is where everyone on the train is looking forward to.

The Death Railway is about 415 km long from Nong Pla Duk Station to Thanbyuzayat Station. Among this, 303.95 km is located in Thailand while the other 111.05 km is in Myanmar. This railway was built during the World War II using the prisoners of war from the Allies and Asian workers brought here by Japanese troops ญี่ปุ่น. It was meant to build as a strategic route going through Myanmar. Currently the terminal station is at Ban Tha Sao or Nam Tok Station สถานีน้ำตก .

My daughter used to visit here when she was 5 years old. All she could remember was that she used to be here and nothing else.

Is this a retrospect trip of 15 years ago?

Let's chill and enjoy this view, we are arriving soon....

We enjoy the ride so much.

The train reaches Nam Tok Station even before we realize it.

Oh, so we arrive now?

Do not ask me if it's hot or our butt hurt?

I have to say this is the pain we must endure in this trip.

On the way back, we must find the soft seat!

We book our hotel two weeks prior to our trip.

Hintok River Camp

https://www.hintokrivercamp.com/th/

I'd like to sleep in safari style, camping, grilling barbecue.....I'm so excited now.

I love it so much from our last stay at River Kwai Jungle Raft.

https://www.riverkwaijunglerafts.com/th/

It's in the same chain so I'm sure I'll be very impressed again.

Last time, I contacted Khun Jib who owns the shop next to Nam Tok Station to take us to the hotel.

I think this time I'll also ask Khun Jib to take us back here.

Because even if it's hot taking the train, but!!! it's more comfortable than taking the van.

Khun Jib also takes us to enjoy our lunch at Ice Phochanakarn Restaurant.

The food is delicious and inexpensive, very good.

https://www.facebook.com/IceRestaurant2/

After taking rest and eating food, it's time to go to our dream hotel.

Once arrived, I leave my mom and run for the view. It's really beautiful like what I have anticipated, love it.

Before I get over with my excitement, the pandan juice is no longer cold.

Still...it smells good, tasty, and refreshing.

Now that we have our key, let's go.....

We have made a deal that nothing gets messy until I finish taking photos, haha.

It's lush and green and refreshing. My mom and my daughter are in love with this black-face dog.

This dog might be for welcoming guest, it's so nice to us.

Oh...Actually, my daughter looks quite like this doggy, hehe.

Now, it's my mom turn to be my model.

And also my labor as I asked her to open up this tent for me, haha.

I think I don't need to explain of how comfy and cozy this place is.

After this photo, everyone can make a mess now, hehe. Each one has your own corner.

The closet is there but I rarely use.

I'd like to just put things the way I like.

P.S. Please also bring the extension as there're only 2 plugs which are very much insufficient.

After sending my mom to take a nap in the cold air conditioner tent, I and my daughter go around for a quick explore.

We've never stayed at a place like this before, so we got excited and take tons of photos around.

This refreshing natural mineral water is running down from the mountain.

Let me soak in it a while. It's such a refreshing time coming in the hot weather like this.

A child must be played in a child pool.

This place forbids!!! to swim or dive in the River Kwai Noi. Probably the water tide is strong and it could be dangerous.

We've gotta be quick a bit. Otherwise, my mom could get worry when waking up and find no one.

After the pool, we walk around and find the museum.

It's so shady that I'd like to spend a week here. There're lots of places to chill and relax.

Then, I wake my mom up, get her dressed and take her to enjoy the view and take photos.

It's taken a while for her to agree and get ready.

Oh well, she's now 70 already and I still drag her along, haha.

Let's find a place to sit and enjoy a cold drink while waiting for our barbecuing dinner time.

It's quite strange that this river was still unclear this afternoon.

How come it's so clean in the evening?

Soon, the rain falls and the sky is closed.

We can be anticipated that there won't be a barbecue with the fire tonight.

But the child is still happy with the rain.

Because she enjoy eating regardless of where.....

Then we move to hide from the rain and wait until 19.00 p.m., our dinner time.

Our dinner room is also probably our breakfast room tomorrow.

The food comes in 6 sets. We are so full.

Most of them are pork and chicken. They are quite delicious.

What I like the most is barbecue.....

I've never succeeded in taking food photos because I have no concentration as I'm too hungry, haha.

The rain is still there.

We now walk to see our dream barbecue location that we missed.....That's alright, let's come back again.

Let's go back to our tent and take a rest. It's been an exhausting day.

It's lucky that the rain stops when we wake up.

No one wakes up like usual, both my mom and my daughter.

So I have to go find the fog alone at the pier.

There's no near fog but the far distance one on the mountain, it's quite good.

Then, I go back to the tent and wake my daughter up, it's time for exercise, yay!

The bicycle is free of charge and there're several kinds for us to choose.

The black-face dog also runs with us, so lovely.

After leaving the hotel, we turn right and cycling about 2 km to find Ban Had Ngew School. Then, we turn right about 100 m and we see the Had Ngew Bridge and River Kwai Noi Bridge which we can see the Buddha Statues afar.

Wat Had Ngew

We take photos and selfies shots together as a memory for our fun journey.

But we have to be careful about the passing bikes as the bridge is quite narrow.

And this is one of the reasons I'd like to visit here.

I have to say that I'm very impressed.

I want to spend time here the longest possible.

We haven't crossed over to Wat Had Ngew as it's time to go back.

Otherwise, we will miss breakfast time with my mom.

We both give up for this mountain. Let's drag our bicycle up here instead!

The way back is usually faster but also more tiring, haha.

Then, we go back to take my mom for breakfast.

The black-face dog is also here to welcome us. They are having such a good chat.

They are cuddling each other a while before reaching here....

Our first set is Western breakfast. It's delicious and we love it.

Our second set is rice porridge, it's so delicious.

The staff is also very caring.

They provide everything (rice porridge seasoning sauces) without us having to ask.

I love their services so much.

My daughter gains 2 kg when she's back home which I have no surprise as she really enjoys the food, haha.

After we all are full, I take my mom to the pier.

I want her to also enjoy the water and the mountain.

Finally....my mom is here....at Kanchanaburi.

There're any corners for us to sit and chill. It's such a cozy place to enjoy a sip of cold drink.

Due to last night rain, the water in the pool is very clean but we have no time to enjoy it now.

Then, we take a shower, pack our things, and wander around a bit more to feel the atmosphere of Hintok River Camp.

It's another impressed hotel that present different accommodation than elsewhere.

It also offers interesting places around.

It's time to say goodbye now and we'll come back!

https://www.facebook.com/hintokrivercamp/

We asked Khun Jib to take us back at 11.30 a.m. and we'd like Khun Jib to drop us at

Hellfire Pass, Memorial Museum

https://th.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%B8%8A%E0%B9%88%E...

Khun Jib drops me and my daughter here and take my mom to wait on top of the hill!!!

I fully aware that it's going to be a tired trip given the limited time.

Other people might walk and enjoy the place but we both run to do so.

I recommend you guys to have 2 hours here not 20 minutes like us. Otherwise, it's really tiring.

"Chong Khao Khad" or "Hellfire Pass" is part of the Thai-Myanmar Railway (the Death Railway). There're lots of rocks, mountains, cliffs and valleys obstructing this Thai-Myanmar Railway road (เส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะ), so it must be dig to let the train pass.

Hellfire Pass, the Memorial Museum

This museum was open in 1998 to commemorate the Allied prisoners and the Asian labors who had to suffer and ended their lives here as well as other places in Asian-Pacific region during the World War II.

I really love this place. If I have more time, I could enjoy more but now I have to hurry.

We still need to hike up to where my mom is already waiting.

I learned later that we chose to hike up on an old winding high up route.

This explains why we felt like getting lost earlier.

The lush green bamboo is the viewpoint that we must stop by but we can't stop neither take photos.

We must hurry walking up the stairs. We get nervous whether we have come to the right direction or on time or not.

And if we are late, what should we do?

I feel a bit sorry for my daughter. I see her worry about being late and lost.

I think this is a good practice for her to be calm, learn to solve problems without getting too nervous.

The journey is the learning process to adapt and solve the uncertainty.

I hope my daughter can take this experience and adapt to her life in the future, hehe.

This is certainly going to be remembered by us forever.

We are sweating, sore at legs and tired.

When we are on the car, my mom said.......your sweat smell, haha.

We still have some times left, so let her enjoy the sweet cold drink and to get back on her feet again.

Then, I also feel less guilty taking her to explore places with limited time.

We are going back at 12.55 p.m. and reach Bangkok at 17.40 p.m.

There're lots of people as it's Saturday.

We must fight to get on the train and for our seats.

My mom also fell while getting on the train but she's alright.

It's fortunate that we get the soft seat back, otherwise, our butt will be a disaster.

I'm okay with this 5-6 hours ride.

But it seems too much for my mom.

I don't think she can go adventurous like this with me again. It's too tiring for a 70 year old.

As for my daughter, her energy is on and off and she needs to be filled with food, sweet drink and sleep.

After this trip, my daughter goes back to school and joins the university's activities.

So in my next adventurous trip, I'd have to go on my own.

The expenses of this trip is quite luxurious as I also take my mom along.

The round trip train ticket is free.

The room at Hintok River Camp for 2 people including breakfast and dinner is 4,700 THB.

The extra bed for my daughter including breakfast and dinner is 2,100 THB.

Lunch at Ice Phochana is 500 THB.

Pick up and drop off service is 1,000 THB (The contact number of Khun Jib is 085-290-3770).

Food, snack, beverages is 700 THB.

The total cost is 9,000 THB and when divided by 3 people, it's 3,000 THB each.

Thank you so much for reading until this line.

That you have traveled with other people, now it's time to travel with your mom and daughter also.

And see you again in my next adventurous trip :)
