Take a relaxing stroll through Bang Pa-In Royal Palace in Ayutthaya

Today we are going to take a relaxing stroll through Bang Pa-In Royal Palace in Ayutthaya for a day. Bang Pa-In Royal Palace, an ancient palace, was constructed by King Prasat Thong since Ayutthaya period and served as the king's residence. Today the palace is used occasionally by their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and Queen Sirikit as a residence and for holding receptions and banquets.

Entrance fee for Thai people are pretty cheap.

-Children or students: 20 Thai baht

- Adults: 30 Thai baht

-Foreigners: 100 Thai baht

There are free brochures to read during the trip.

Golf car services are provided for someone who doesn't want to take a long walk. It costs 400 Thai baht for the first hour and 100 Thai baht for the next hour. We , however, choose to walk because we would like to do some exercises and enjoy views at stopovers. Here are some interesting spots we find along the walkway.

Ho Hem Monthian Thewarat is a small stone structure in the form of a Khmer-style prasat (residence of a king or god with corncob-shaped super-structure) .

Overlooking the opposite side, we see Saphakan Ratchaprayun , a riverside building. In the present time, it is a place where exhibits something offered to King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

Then, we keep walking and we see Krachomtrae , a pavilion located in the middle of an outer pond. Some bread are sold to feed fish and turtles.

Phra Thinang Aisawan Thiphya-Art is a Thai-style pavilion with four porches and a spired roof built in the middle of an outer pond. It is pity that it is closed for maintenance when we go there. So, we don't have a chance to take pictures for you.

Phra Thinang Warophat Phiman is a Neo-Classic style one-storey mansion built by King Chulalongkorn in 1876 as his residence and throne hall. To enter this place, you have to dress appropriately. Men wear a proper trousers and women wear a dress or a sarong. Ripped jeans and sexy clothing are not allowed in here. Internally, it is completely splendid. Everything is in good condition. Anyway, taking photos is not allowed in there.

Ho Withun Thasana Tower is a pretty high tower with a curve roof. It is a three-storey building with a top floor hall. It was built in 1881, located in the middle surrounded by water in the garden. The hall was used to get the bird's eye views of surrounding area and watch stars at night.
